Job Title: EHS Director
Location: Vernon, CA
Salary: $135,000 - $175,000
THIS IS AN ON-SITE ROLE
Position Overview: The compliance of a business with industry standards and local, state, and federal safety rules is monitored by an Environmental, Health, and Safety Director. By conducting workplace inspections and reducing or eliminating dangers, the director safeguards both the environment and the workforce.
Responsiblities:
Safety standards and best management practices should be used to identify, eradicate, and control dangerous circumstances that could cause harm to people or property damage.
Evaluate and monitor outcomes, spot opportunities, and put strategies for ongoing improvement into action.
Continue their education and training to stay up to date on legislation that affect their spheres of influence and ensure that they are complying with local, state, and federal rules as well as industry standards.
Work together on associated protocols and incident management with Human Resources, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Risk Management, and Legal.
Techniques for designing buildings to evaluate the safety of industries, offices, and warehouses
Create and present training programs for EH&S
Examines working conditions to guarantee that all items and operations adhere to safety regulations
Observe the environmental and safety protocols of the company.
Recalls machinery and goods that are dangerous and defective
Conducts emergency simulations to assess worker readiness
Consults with the manager of the company about putting new safety protocols into place.
Focuses on any accidents and health problems arising from the workplace
Develops and puts into effect facility standard operating procedures
Creates and updates the company safety manual
Updates the Training Matrix, which comprises safety training and S.O.P. training data
Control the departmental budget.
Additional tasks as designated
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Safety, or related field
10+ years of EHS experience (preferably in food manufacturing)
CHSP, CHCM, CHFSP, CHMM, CIH, or CSHM certifications desired
In-depth knowledge of Joint Commission, CA Title 22/24, OSHPD, and CalOSHA
